Wow – I thought CD6 in Minnesota had the nut job of all times – Michele Bachmann – but I found one one on the east coast that could take her title away from her in no time.
This morning Baldasaro was brought to my attention by a Think Progress article. A staunch supporter of Rick Perry for President – Baldasaro has some unique ways of viewing things.
Baldasaro concluded by praising the Republican audience’s reaction to Hill:
KEYES: What did you make of that moment in the debate when they had the gay marine asking a question and there were a few in the audience who were booing him?
BALDASARO: I was so disgusted over that gay marine coming out, because when he came out of the closet. Bob won’t say it because they’re scared to get in trouble, but their brothers and sisters – brothers especially- that are there, they’ll start getting away from him. They’ll start ignoring him. He doesn’t realize it, but when the shit hits the fan, you want your brothers covering your back, not looking at your back.
KEYES: Did you have an issue with the audience reaction?
BALDASARO: Oh no, I thought the audience, when they booed the marine, I thought it was great.
So I decided to research this guy and found out - this wasn’t a one time occurrence. Baldasaro is a homophobe, as shown in this exchange documented by Talking Points Memo.
Then things got really bad: "I wanted to make sure everyone understood here, that this legislature sold the rights of $10,000 per kid under title four, when they said that homosexual couples, not married, can adopt."
"So we sold each kid to a homosexual couple that's not married for $10,000," Baldasaro said.
Baldasaro also brought up incestuous couples, asking "aren't we discriminating against all them?"
"What about the Muslims now?," he asked."Everyone's praising the Muslims. They're killing us. What about them, they want three, four wives. We're discriminating against them."
And I guess you don’t want to cross the path of this nut job – as recorded in this article by the Concord Monitor.
Then, on Wednesday, in its first official legislative action, the New Hampshire House voted to allow concealed weapons in the House chamber, gallery and anterooms.
You know how Baldasaro voted. He's quick to point out that he's a retired Marine who served in Desert Storm, building airfields. Intimidation works, he says. Planting a seed of doubt in someone's mind, a reminder that reckless and dangerous behavior will carry serious consequences, is the way to go.
"If you take a look at New Hampshire, it's the safest state in the country," Baldasaro said. "Why? Because if you break into a home in New Hampshire, there's a gun behind every door, just about."
Baldasaro says he's seen two shootings in Somerville, Mass. He says he could have made a difference had he been armed.
"Twice I had no gun," Baldasaro said. "I could have stopped that shooting. If you take a look at the areas of the country where they had mass killings, those are no-gun zones. The only ones who were carrying guns in those areas were criminals. That's not right. If one person had a gun there, they would have stopped that guy."
Either he’s a liar – or he spends too much time in the “wrong part of town”. Two shootings – really? He was there?
And he supports getting rid of Kindergarten
Representative Tamburello voted against the elimination of the Kindergarten mandate along with most other Londonderry and Auburn Representatives. Representative Al Baldasaro and Stella Tremblay voted with the minority to end the requirement of Kindergarten.
In a 213 to 134 vote on House Bill 631 failed, if it had passed New Hampshire would be the only state that did not include Kindergarten in a K-12 curriculum.
In 2007 – he showed his absolute intolerance for letting the “other side” be heard” – nasty, just plain and nasty – must be his middle name “nasty”.
VanRiper, of Pembroke, Mass., spoke alongside state Rep. Gilman Shattuck, a Democrat from Hillsborough, and New Hampshire Council of Churches Executive Director David Lamarre-Vincent. They said President Bush's plan to send an additional 21,500 troops into Iraq falls far short of what is needed to quell violence in Baghdad and other hot spots.
"It's too little, too late. Twenty thousand troops is like spitting into the ocean," VanRiper said. "We're not giving them a mission that can be realistically fulfilled."
"I'm wondering, as a Marine, where you fall in?" Baldasaro asked Marine Cpl. Brian VanRiper, who is not on active duty but could be called up again.
"As a Marine coming home, standing here with brothers over there being shot at and protecting the rights of people being raped, killed, murdered - how do you as a Marine, as a brotherhood, stand here and talk the way you are?" Baldasaro asked.
Other Republicans stood in the back of the lobby in the Legislative Office Building and watched as Baldasaro, who served as a Marine in Iraq during the 1991 Persian Gulf war, turned the anti-escalation event into an anti-anti-escalation rant.
"I believe you have the cut-and-run mentality and don't get it," Baldasaro said. "He comes here as a know-it-all. The cut-and-run attitude, I just disagree, especially when you use a young Marine as a pawn."
YET - In an editorial in early 2011 he shows us why he feels he has to cut the “other side” down.

I am trying my dam nest to earn that $100.00 a year I get for doing this job which in my opinion is trying to keep NH the best state to live in with smaller government and less spending where we live within our means. I know anything we Conservatives do opens us up for false attacks, since Democrats will do the opposite of us or this sites Journalist letters don’t give the whole truth on Legislation passed, don’t believe me just read back at the titles and you will see what I am talking about and read the actual bill.
And it appears he is a tenther – Here’s the first thing he proposed this current legislative session.

Wow! And then on top of this you have his "quasi-state militia" legislation.
This guy says he use to be a Democrat – NOT – EVER – must be just a talking point.
His grandfather was a Democrat - so sad, so sad...
