Is Minnesota the Next ALEC "Right to Work for Less" State?

Minnesotans – Our ALEC legislators are planning on taking workers on and we have to be ready this next legislative session to take the legislature on.

Minnesotans – we cannot let ALEC’s focus on increasing corporate member profits at the loss of the worker – to become the rule in Minnesota.

Minnesota – We have traditionally been a strong progressive state.  We cannot allow ALEC legislators to take us back to pre-1930.

Minnesota – Our time is coming – we must be prepared to act.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana's House Democrats are bracing for major financial pain as they begin a third day blocking a bill that would make Indiana the first state in more than a decade to enact right-to-work legislation.

Fines of $1,000 daily for each Democrat could hit Friday, depending on what Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma decides to do with lawmakers who deny him the numbers needed to push through the Republican priority.

Yes, Bosma – is an ALEC member – he’s probably got a financial stake in making sure that ALEC’s right to work legislation is passed – probably much more than $1,000 a day.

Yes – Right to Work is an initiative of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).  And as many refer to that legislation the “Right to Work for Less”  is EXACTLY what ALEC corporate sector members / private enterprise members want so they can increase profits on the back of the working class.  Corporations make more money – you go broke – that’s the mantra of ALEC and the philosophy of your ALEC legislator. 

Everything ALEC does is direct attack on the working class and poor – while at the same time creating increased profits/benefits for the ALEC corporate members in some way.

Here’s an article that was written on the Indiana Right to Work for Less at CMD.  Even though it is about Indiana – it is to your advantage to get to know this issue – cause ALEC will not stop in their quest to increase their corporate members profits.

And all the ALEC puppet legislators are pushing the Right to Work for Less legislation in states across the United States to benefit ALEC corporate sector / private enterprise members.

And why am I writing about this – cause Minnesota ALEC members are up to something much more drastic – They are taking the ALEC Right to Work for Less to another level – a state constitutional amendment  to work for less.  Last night on left wing talk radio – the local AFL-CIO leader in Minnesota (who probably does have an inside line to what is coming down the legisltive pipe) said that the Minnesota legislature was talking about a “Right to Work for Less” state constitutional amendment.

If this amendment passes – Minnesota workers are screwed – but Minnesota corporations, thanks to our ALEC legislature will make much more money – by paying people less.  Our state economy will be destroyed as Minnesotans are caught in a downward spiral of reduced pay – workers will see their pay go down and down and down and down.

You see – we have a Democratic governor who has already said he will veto any “Right to Work for Less” legislation that comes out of the MInnesota ALEC led legislature. 

So……….if the Minnesota ALEC legislature has their way, in 2012 – in addition to an absolutely stupid Marriage Amendment – Minnesota may have a “Right to Work for Less Amendment” – as part of the state constitution.

Using the words of the labor leader that was on the radio last night - Tell your legislator to walk away from "Right to Work" discussions.  Print and send this handout to your legislator.

ALEC literature refers to Minnesota as a "forced union" state.
I work and I don't belong to a union - BUT I enjoy ALL the benefits that union membership has brought to the workplace - 5 day workweek, 8 hour work day, sick leave, vacation time, and on and on and on.
The use of the phrase "forced union" state is a way of ALEC intentionally uses as negative campaign in Minnesota to dvide workers and pit them against each other.  We must make sure that the phrase "force union state" is challeneged every time it is used by ALEC members when speaking to the mdia - you must fight back.

So Minnesotans - we have to get ready for the fight - we have to get ready to protect workers "right to work for decent pay".

So Minnesotans - keep your eye on "the legislative ball" - 'cause our Minnesota ALEC legsilators are aiming at screwing Minnesota workers so that ALEC corporate members can make more money.

MUST NOT BE RE-ELECTED or receive our support in any means or manner!

Without state and federal legislators ALEC will cease to exist and it will implode.
