I didn’t watch the POTUS do the SoU address last night. Tired of people lying to me.
I truly wish that the “old guard” would come together, first
for an organizational meeting and then a come to jesus congressional training
session in DC. The “old guard” –
politicians who actually worked across the aisle – knew how to put in a solid
days work and cared about serving the public – instead of serving the 1%.
I didn’t listen to ALEC Alumni Marco Rubio – giving his
version of the world to his low-knowledge base. But I though I would read his response – after
hearing some comments about it today.
Here’s my response and wait – I need a drink of water before
I start …
Transcript: GOP Response To State Of The Union Address
February 12, 201310:31 PM
The State of the Union address is
always a reminder of how unique America
is. For much of human history, most people were trapped in stagnant societies,
where a tiny minority always stayed on top, and no one else even had a chance.
Kinda like American is right now - A tiny bunch of
multi-billionaires calling the shots for the other 350 million people
This opportunity – to make it to the
middle class or beyond no matter where you start out in life – it isn't
bestowed on us from Washington.
Because all opportunity - it is taken away by Republican policies
Presidents in both parties – from John
F. Kennedy to Ronald Reagan – have known that our free enterprise economy is
the source of our middle class prosperity.
Oh my, here’s the start of the ALEC/Koch free-market junk philosophy
Because more government breeds
complicated rules and laws that a small business can't afford to follow.
Oh my, Here’s ALEC de-regulation mantra – a repetitive mantra to help ALEC corporate
profit sector member make more money – while they destroy our environment and
kill and maim the American people with their products.
And because many government programs
that claim to help the middle class, often end up hurting them instead.
Huh? … only when CONservatives de-fund the program
or eliminate the program.
For example, Obamacare was supposed to
help middle class Americans afford health insurance. But now, some people are
losing the health insurance they were happy with.
Because right-wing corporate nut jobs are cutting hours so
that they don’t have to provide insurance.
Let’s see I believe that is Darden Restaurants, Applebees, Papa Johns, …
There are valid reasons to be
concerned about the President's plan to grow our government. But any time
anyone opposes the President's agenda, he and his allies usually respond by falsely
attacking their motives.
Oh my god, whining! – “they’re picking on us”. They are picking on ALEC – they are falsely
attacking ALEC and the Kochs. Funny
thing how the CONservatives can say anything they want and the MSM doesn’t
question it – but even when the rest of us defend everything we write with
undeniable facts – the CONservatives call it “falsely attacking” – their version
of CONservative junk science.
When we point out that no matter how
many job-killing laws we pass, our government can't control the weather – he
accuses us of wanting dirty water and dirty air.
You do want dirty water and dirty air – you and your ALEC buddies
are trying to gut clean energy initiatives – you live in a lulla-land of
climate denial, based on too many ALEC meeting workshops.
When we suggest we strengthen our
safety net programs by giving states more flexibility to manage them – he
accuses us of wanting to leave the elderly and disabled to fend for themselves.
ALEC State Sovereignty policy comes to the conversation. Yeh – like Scott Walker is going to take care
of the elderly and disabled. Yeh – like Rick
Snyder would take care of the elderly and disabled. Yeh – like Bobby Jindal (get rid of Medicaid paid
hospice – would care for the elderly and disabled. Yeh, right – turn it over to the states -
But his favorite attack of all is that
those who don't agree with him – they only care about rich people.
That’s not an attack – that’s the TRUTH, a statement of
fact.
Economic growth is the best way to
help the middle class. Unfortunately, our economy actually shrank during the
last three months of 2012.
The last three months of 2012 – how precious! How long did it take your writers to find more
than one month? Let’s see the economy
actually shrunk for eight YEARS under CONservative Bush.
But if we can get the economy to grow
at just 4 percent a year, it would create millions of middle class jobs. And it
could reduce our deficits by almost $4 trillion dollars over the next decade.
Then get to work – wasn’t it the CONservatives who have
campaigned on jobs – while at the same time putting in the fewest number of
days on the job while serving in Congress?
BTW – aren’t you and your House buddies taking the next fourteen days
off with a huge – really huge, deadline facing the US in 16 days? Oh you guys are the beacon of how things
should be done. Good thing you don’t
work in the private sector – there you can’t get two weeks off when there is a
deadline in two weeks and two days.
One of the best ways to encourage
growth is through our energy industry. Of course solar and wind energy should
be a part of our energy portfolio. But God also blessed America with
abundant coal, oil and natural gas. Instead of wasting more taxpayer money on
so-called "clean energy" companies like Solyndra, let's open up more
federal lands for safe and responsible exploration.
Here we go – fossil fuel loving – wanting to desecrate
federal lands with fossil fuel exploration. People wake up! these assholes are going to
turn every piece of land over to the energy companies like ALEC members
Peabody, Koch and Duke. By the time they
are doen – there won’t be anywhere to build the poorhouses that will be needed
to house Americans.
And let's reform our energy
regulations so that they're reasonable and based on common sense.
ALEC’s de-regulation mantra , again.
Simplifying our tax code will also
help the middle class, because it will make it easier for small businesses to
hire and grow.
Check out the latest ALEC report if you need more information
on this ALEC talking point and check out the rebuttal to that report (ALEC is
wrong again!)
We need to give all parents,
especially the parents of children with special needs, the opportunity to send
their children to the school of their choice.
Also known as ALEC model legislation “Special Needs
Scholarship Program Act”
Also known as steal tax payer dollars to send your special
needs child to an unproven for-profit charter school that doesn’t meet Federal
standards..
We need student aid that does not
discriminate against programs that non-traditional students rely on – like
online courses, or degree programs that give you credit for work experience.
Like the one’s offered through for-profit higher education
companies that belong to ALEC. The type
of higher ed schools that have been in the news for charging exorbitant tuition/fees,
sucking up insane amounts of federal funds– and then leaving the students with a
substandard education, no job possibilities, and massive student debt.
Today, many graduates face massive
student debt. We must give students more information on the costs and benefits
of the student loans they're taking out.
I suppose a pamphlet would do – huh? After all – while the CONservatives are
cutting education funding, there’s not much money left over to actually educate
students in finance.
The real cause of our debt is that our
government has been spending 1 trillion dollars more than it takes in every
year. That's why we need a balanced budget amendment.
Oh – There’s the ALEC “Resolution for a Balanced Budget” –
that doesn’t really balance the budget – just gets rid of federal government regulations
and controls.
Of course, we face other challenges as
well. We were all heart broken by the recent tragedy in Connecticut. We must effectively deal with
the rise of violence in our country. But unconstitutionally undermining the 2nd
Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans is not the way to do it.
Yep – gotta keep the ALEC / NRA relationship happy.
Instead we should grow our economy so that we create new
taxpayers,
not new taxes, and so our government can afford to help those who
truly cannot help themselves.
not new taxes, and so our government can afford to help those who
truly cannot help themselves.
Then get in touch with your corporate buddies and tell them
to bring their jobs back to the US
– where they should be.
“those who truly cannot help themselves” – who is going to
define this? God forbid it would be the
CONservatives.
And the truth is every problem can't
be solved by government. Many are caused by the moral breakdown in our society.
And the answers to those challenges lie primarily in our families and our
faiths, not our politicians.
I have faith – in our government – too bad this CONservative
doesn’t.
Despite our differences, I know that
both Republicans and Democrats love America. I pray we can come
together to solve our problems, because the choices before us could not be more
important.
No – Democrat love America and care for other Americans
(including Republicans)
Republicans love Republicans – specifically, rich Republican
and they basically hate everyone else.
At a time when one showdown after
another ends in short-term deals that do little or nothing about our real
problems, some are starting to believe that our government leaders just can't
or won't make the right choices anymore.
And whose fault is that pray tell – what has it been 136
filibusters from the Republicans?
A people united by the American idea
that, if you have a dream and you are willing to work hard, nothing should be
impossible.
My dream is to destroy ALEC – thank you I will work hard at
it and it will be possible.
And for all of us - "pull yourself up by your million dollar bootstraps" cause the CONservatives are going to slash and burn every social program.
And for all of us - "pull yourself up by your million dollar bootstraps" cause the CONservatives are going to slash and burn every social program.
But we Americans have always known
better. From our earliest days, we embraced economic liberty instead.
There is so much wrong with that statement – would suggest
that he re-read history and maybe try to take a naturalization test – it’s
evident he does not know what he’s talking about there.
Each time our nation has faced great
challenges, what has kept us together was our shared hope for a better life.
I haven’t had a shared hope for a better life in over 20
years.
Now, let that hope bring us together
again.
Talking to the base – Tea party arise!
Thank you for listening. May God bless
all of you. May God bless our President. And may God continue to bless the United States of America.
And may a fairy godmother change your rags into a ballgown,
and your rusted out car into a newer rusted out car and may you die before the
clock strikes midnight and the Republicans re-take over the United States and
everything turns into garbage again.
And may fairy dust bring you hope and happiness.
And may Santa Claus, the Easter bunnny, the tooth fairy and a leprechaun will bring you bring lots of gifts, chocolates, money, and a pot gold.
And may all the politicians in Washington DC
be cursed with a Pinocchio hex for two weeks or more.
