Margaret Thatcher Was Not All That

I do not mourn her death.  I don't rejoice in it.
I will pray for her - that she rots in hell.
All of the evil she perpetrated will continue - because others have and will carry forth "her torch".

From a working persons standpoint - she was part of the problem.  And while most of the American media is throwing out glowing eulogies about her - I don't share those views.

Margaret Thatcher:
Socialists cry "Power to the people", and raise the clenched fist as they say it. We all know what they really mean—power over people, power to the State.

She was anti-union
She was for privatization of government
She sold public entities to private industry
She was for limited government
She promoted a free-market philosophy at the expense of the people.

IMHO - She hated anything common and that included commoners.

She called Nelson Mandela a terrorist
She was instrumental in putting Pinochet into power in Chile

She was an International Legislator of the Year at ALEC.

And I'm not alone in my thinking.

SNIPS from TruthOut:

Mrs. Thatcher oversaw the start of Britain’s Great Polarization between the creditor 1% and the increasingly indebted 99%.

Privatization also created vast new opportunities for monopoly rent for privatized public utilities, along with predatory financial takings by increasingly predatory banking

The “grocer’s daughter” depicted Britain’s problems as a result of uppity labor.

When Mrs. Thatcher took power, 1 in 7 of the England’s children lived in poverty. By the end of her reforms that number had risen to 1 in 3

In the end, not only was great damage inflicted on England, but on the entire world as capital fled developing countries for safe harbors in London’s banks. Meanwhile, governments throughout the world today are declaring “We’re broke,” as their oligarchs grow ever more rich.

In parts of Europe, people are dancing in the streets because she is dead.
She caused great deal of harm to a lot of people through her policies.
Her policies and her power hurt a lot of people - not only in the UK but around the globe.

In response to that the following quote showed up this morning by a UK politician regarding the revelers:

"Pygmies of the left so predictably embarrassing yourselves, know this: not a one of your leaders will ever be globally mourned like her."

Pygmies - a double entrendre
Guess I'm a "pygmie" and hopefully NONE of my leaders will be mourned like her.  One nasty piece of work.

IMHO - She hated anything common and that included commoners and it appears that so does everyone who admires her.
