Its Not OK to Vote for ALEC in OK

Its Not OK to Vote for ALEC in OK
That pretty much says it all!
And right now there are way too many ALECers in that stat of OK wanting to get elected or re-elected.

How do people get on an ALEC list?
That question comes up all the time.  The most common are:
They serve on ALEC task forces
They have paid ALEC dues through their campaign finances
They self identified themselves somewhere , anywhere as an ALEC member.
They have been shown as a signatory on an ALEC letter.
They have been listed by ALEC as a member, in ALEC documents.
They have been “outed” by a credible source, on the web.
They have attended an ALEC meeting.
They previously were employed by ALEC and now work in government.

Because these were pulled from the web and historical documents some of the people listed are no longer living and some of them are claiming they kicked ALEC to the curb – which I question (I think they say that just to get re-elected).

Current ALEC Member/Close Ties Affiliations
This one is pretty evident – the main purpose for knowing the people who are currently affiliated with the extremist, pro-corporate American Legislative Exchange Council is to get them out of government - any and all government.

We must make sure that all current ALEC government employees are not re-elected or not re-appointed.

Some of the names on the list are candidates who ran for office and were not elected.  As part of their campaign expenses, they paid for an ALEC membership.  We must make sure that these people are never elected to public office and they want to be elected.

Past ALEC Member/Close Ties Affiliations
This may seem questionable to some – but it is as important as making sure that current members are not re-elected or elected.

It is important to know past members.  Just recently, many past ALEC members crawled out from behind the baseboards (like the Kochroaches they are) to run for office again or for appointments to state and federal commissions and other offices.  Because these people were not on the current lists which are posted elsewhere – they went unnoticed as ALEC members.
Past ALEC members are appointed to US government positions.
Past ALEC members are appointed to state positions.
Past ALEC members become lobbyists who have influence on your legislation.
Past ALEC members become judges who have an influence on
      your justice system and decisions.
Past ALEC members become regents of your universities who have
an influence on the decisions made in relation to higher education.
Past ALEC members serve on commissions that affect the running
     of your state.
Past ALEC members serve on councils or commissions that affect the running
of your city, your county and your municipalities
Past and current ALEC members are generational in some states
    (aka family of ALECers)
Past member run for office again at a later date!!
Past ALECers are still ALECers
If they don't want to be an ALECer
   To Repent
    - a past ALEC member
    Must publicly acknowledge membership
    Must publicly condemn ALEC
Must actively work to repeal ALEC evil that has been enacted into law

Lists are ALWAYS Partial - ALECers HIDE their involvement with ALEC!
It's important to remember that all lists published anywhere on the web should be considered incomplete partial lists - because ALEC members hide their membership - because they ashamed to admit they belong to ALEC, they know it is wrong!

Idaho - Vote No to ALEC

Did a bike tour across Idaho a couple years ago.
Nice state - beautiful -
Nasty politics though.

Primaries are coming up so voters need to be aware of who is who in their state.

Georgia ALECers Are on My Mind

Georgia - Georgia
I said Georgia,
Ooh Georgia, no peace I find

Unless Georgia gets rid of it's ALEC legislators - they will see more extremist legislation similar to the recently passed License to Kill - anytime, anywhere, for any reason.  The voters of Georgia didn't want this bill - they don't like this bill - but the legislators of Georgia did this against the will of the people.

You can't stay in a state of oblivion - you need to

ALEC Corporate Members Hide Their Involvement Too.

As I have often said in the past - ALEC members hide their association with the American Legislative Exchange Council - cause they ashamed - they know what they are doing is wrong - wrong for their state - wrong for the UNITED States of America.

Finding ALEC members is a time consuming job - attempted by many, and the rewards are few.
It's hard to find and report on something that is intentionally hidden from the public view.

Finding ALEC Corporate sector / private sector members is a challenge also - cause they don't advertise that they go out and buy legislators - sounds too un-American, they are ashamed of their actions also.

Corporate lobbyist don't brag about their ALEC affiliation - ALEC corporate lobbyists don't go around saying
“Yah, I’m down in New Orleans for the American Legislative Exchange Council meeting. We write legislation, and they pass our ideas. It’s the free market.”
Oh, hell - I forgot,  yes they do - that's an actual quote from an ALEC corporate lobbyist member.

Anyway - on to the story.

Exelon
nuke power provider, "the owner of the nation's largest nuclear fleet",
     "America's largest nuclear energy company"

If you search for Exelon and ALEC the best you can come up is
           Commonwealth Edison Company (now Exelon)[17]
from ALECExposed - an 11 year updated reference going back to the work of
Defenders of Wildlife, Natural Resources Defense Council, "Corporations and Trades Associations that Fund ALEC," Corporate America's Trojan Horse in the States: The Untold Story Behind the American Legislative Exchange Council, online report, 2003

You see Exelon doesn't go around telling people they are a member of ALEC.
Exelon doesn't want people to know:
“Yah, I’m down in New Orleans for the American Legislative Exchange Council meeting. We write legislation, and they pass our ideas. It’s the free market.”
Well today - while I was moving about the web I found this slide show presentation.

In 2008 - only 6 years ago
August 2008 - ALEC Annual meeting - the big kahuna meeting - in Chicago
The 35th Anniversary of ALEC in it's birthplace - Chicago

by David Brown - SVP Federal Government Affairs at Exelon Corporation
Not flunky lobbyist David Brown - SENIOR VP David Brown.

Big Deal meeting - with big deal speakers and Exelon was there.

Hey Exelon - why don't you brag about your affiliation with ALEC - no press releases - no statements to the press.
Why - are you ashamed, cause you know what you are doing is wrong?

For TX to Go Blue - ALECers Must Go Too!

Well the Texas primaries are over.

America is hoping Texas will turn from Red to Blue this year.

One way to make that happen is to get rid of the ALECers in Texas.  It would be a very fitting gift to them since they are having the ALEC annual meeting in Dallas starting on July 30.  Kinda a for "hosting an ALEC lobbying party " - you get kicked out of office.

Now ,,,
this list is a partial.
ALECers hide their membership - because they are ashamed - as they should be - cause they know their actions in ALEC are wrong for America.
You probably won't find any of these folks bragging about their ties to the American Legislative Exchange, they are ashamed.

There are probably more - that are missing from the list - but how can anyone report something that is intentionally hidden from public view.

So anyway -
Your "mission" Texas - should you choose to accept it
is to get rid of these ALECers - even if it means starting a write in campaign for someone against them, if they are running unopposed.  Many of them were unopposed in the primary.
Remember - if there's no dem/indy running against these ALECers - it's your duty to come up with a write-in candidate.  Never say never - NEVER!

To go Blue - Texas must get rid of these ALECers

ALEC - Exercising 1st Amendment Right = Communism

Saw this tweet today - can't go unreported

Let's take a up-close look at that!

An ALEC fund raising letter written after the Kansas City protest - by ALEC Executive Director, Ron Scheberle
Note picture of KC protesters at the top of the letter.

Peaceful protesters
The left has openly attacked America's founding principles during the "fundamental transformation" of our great country.
Huh? What the hell does that mean - new RW meme?
With wealthy benefactors and powerful accomplices, they feel emboldened to openly advocate Communism on our streets.
"wealthy benefactors" - no one paid my way
"wealthy benefactors" - ALEC is bringing up "wealthy benefactors" - really, really - like they don't have their hand in pockets of corporations for 98% of their funding?
"wealthy benefactors"  Really ALEC - you can not go there!

"powerful accomplices" - who the working poor with picket signs, the disabled vet with a picket sign?  Who the hell are they talking about?

"openly advocate Communism on our streets"?
Protesters - expressing our first amendment right to free speech and assembly - which by the way, ALEC uses as their key phrase to protect themselves from disclosure of their secretive ways - is now COMMUNISM?
People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw around words like that!
ALEC was screaming about their first amendment rights just last year and throughout the year.  So if ALEC is going to go down that street - using first amendment rights = communism, then ALEC is a bunch of communists.
ALEC members proudly stand for limited government, free markets and federalism.  But now we need your help.  Will you stand with ALEC to defend out nations' founding principles against these Communist attacks?
Grey haired men and women - vets in wheelchairs - workers without a pot to piss in - holding up protest signs and yelling at a hotel wall for 10 minutes, from across the street, is a "communist attack?"
Really - ALEC!  REALLY?
ALEC needs MORE MONEY to defend itself against people standing across the street, while ALEC is protected by a line of police flanking the hotel entry.  You cowardly ALECers peek out from behind the hotel curtains of your posh hotel room - paid for by corporations - and you yell "communists".
Sorry bunch of wimpy, baby, losers!

Better pack your Depends for the Texas meeting - cause if the KC bunch of "communists" made you pee your pants - wait til Dallas.

ALEC has crawled onto the crazy train - telling people in a fundraising letter that using the first amendment rights to protest is a communist attack on the country.

ALEC has moved from real life into the fictional world of movie scripts (from the 6th sense)
ALEC is telling funders - "I see communists"
   In your dreams?
   While you're awake?
Walking around like regular people. They don't see each other.
They only see what they want to see.
   They don't know they're   ... communists.
How often do you see them?
    All the time. They're everywhere.

CRAZY TRAIN - ALLLLLLLL ABOARD!
Please click here to donate today and together, we can stand firm against open calls for a Communist America.
Sincerely
Ron Scheberle
Executive Director
The American Legislative Exchange Council  has crossed the boundary,  to crazy behavior. The nut jobs have escaped the asylum and publicized their insanity.
I use to think they were just extremists - now I think they are crazy dangerous extremists.

With this type of inflammatory rhetoric being thrown around by the ALEC Executive Director - what is next on the ALEC legislation agenda?  Is there a piece of ALEC legislation in the hopper for approval that reinstates the McCarthy hearings - to identify and persecute protesters who dare use their first amendment rights?

And your state legislator belongs to this organization?
Oh, my.
