Individual Freedom, Individual Liberty and a Texas Abortion.

Texas is passing an emergency bill having to do with abortion.
I’m not going to get into the issue of abortion – I am going to get into the issue of degradation of women that this bill epitomizes.

This bill is a real indication about how stupid the State of Texas  thinks women are and how much disdain they have for women.

First – the stupid part.  They are implementing a 24 hour waiting period after the sonogram.  This assumes that the woman didn’t think about the procedure before she came into the office.  Their assumption is that a woman drives down to the drug store – buys a pregnancy test – drives home for three minutes to pee & test and then drives to the clinic for the procedure.    Quite evident from their legislation that they think a woman has no higher level thinking skills - just knows how to drive, pee, and drive – and doesn't think about the situation she is in or what she is going to do.

Now let’s talk about the disdain for women’s bodies. There are two types of sonograms available for pregnancy fetal ultrasound.  The legislature in Texas is not satisfied with forcing the woman to have just any old sonogram.

The one used most commonly is the transabdmoninal sonogram – where they rub gel on your belly,  move a transducer around your belly and walla – a picture of a baby.

But that is not what the Texas legislature wants for an ultrasound.  Oh NO!!  The Texas legislature is going to force the women to have a transvaginal sonogram where they shove a transducer up the vagina and then get their readings.

If this isn’t an absolute accurate picture of what misogyny is – I have no idea what is.  Makes me want to throw up – makes me hate Texas even more -

First of all they need to let us women know how god damn stupid they think we are and then they need to poke an object up our vagina.  Sounds like these guys need to castrated, cause their testosterone is too  high  - or maybe stop watching so many porn movies.

This is an one of five emergency bills pushed by Rick Perry – who spoke at the ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) National conference in 2010.  At the conference he said:  "With bold leadership from elected officials at every level, we can recapture what is great about America and restore this nation as a beacon of individual liberty and economic prosperity."  In addition  he won the 2010 Thomas Jefferson Freedom Award is ALEC's highest honor, given annually to a current or former public official who has established an exemplary record of advancing the fundamental Jeffersonian principles of free markets, limited government, federalism and individual liberty as a nationally recognized leader.   Evidently individual liberty includes having a transducer shoved up your vagina.

Sid Miller – the author of the bill.  Sid Miller serves as a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council's Education Task Force  And his 2010 campaign finance report he received donations from AT&T, Chevron, Eli Lilly, Liberty Mutual, Merck, Time Warner and Verizon – ALL ALEC Members – not bad for a guy from a town of 18,000 people.  On the txxx.org web page is noted as “First, that our personal freedoms are under constant assault and second, just how important one vote, one voice is in protecting those freedoms.   Evidently individual freedom includes having a transducer shoved up your vagina - that'll teach ya!

That’s all I got to say about that.
