In the News - Rubio and Cantor - ARE ALEC ALUMNI

This morning when I was driving to work Bill Press was talking about how Eric Cantor is taking the stance that no relief funds should be made available to FEMA until cuts are made in other programs.

Press also mentioned that George Allen from Virginia supports Cantor in this philosophy.

He referred to them as Tea-Baggers - Cantor is an ALUMNI of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and Allen is a "special" ALEC ALUMNI - having received the 1996 Thomas Jefferson Freedom Award and has been a guest speaker and a featured article in their magazine.

At lunch I was listening to Ed Schultz go on and on and on about Marc Rubio and throughout the conversation and a subsequent conversation with Papitonio about Rubio - they used the phrase Tea-Bagger quite a few times - but never mentioned the fact hat he is AN ALEC ALUMNI.

During my drive home - Thom Hartmann - not once but twice brought up the fact that 5 of the Repug presidential candidates want to eliminate the capital gains tax.  Well hello - all he had to do was go to this page  and look at this ALEC "Model Legislation"  - The Capital Gains Tax Elimination Act" and he would know that those five candidates are just following the ALEC party platform.

It drives me insane - just insane -  that this important piece of information is just being not reported.

They do a disservice to everyone of their listeners when they don't identify these repugs as ALEC ALUMNI.  AND there is no excuse for this level of ignorance when they have names available to them with one click of the mouse at ALEC Exposed  and SourceWatch.

When is America going to realize that ALEC and the ALEC philosophy and platform - are behind all this crap that is happening in America.  ALEC is destroying America - not the Tea Party.

WE HAVE TO make sure that all ALEC members are not re-elected to the US Congress or the state legislatures.

For more information on ALEC –

And watch this news video  from North Carolina on how other ALEC "model legislation" is going to screw the citizens of North Carolina - legislation introduced by ALEC legislators.

*****************

A vote for an ALEC legislative candidate -
is a vote for greater pro-corporate representation and legislation  in your state,
is a vote against small and medium size business in your state,
is a vote against representative government for the people, and
is a vote against the very beliefs of the United States of America.
