Rick Berg (ND-ALEC) Must Not Be Re-elected

This guy is the gift that keeps on giving.

I thought about and then ignored a post on him last week about his stance on abortion.

But here he pops up again today – both of them on Think Progress so I think it is time for people to learn a little bit about good ‘ol Rick Berg from North Dakota

A candidate for the US Senate like ALEC alum Tommy Thompson from Wisconsin
They’re everywhere – they’re everywhere

There’s articles about him – but none of them say – Rick Berg is an alum of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) – we have to say that out loud – early and often.

Privatization a good ALEC theme.

During the North Dakota Broadcasters debate in Bismarck, Berg’s opponent in the Senate race, Heidi Heitkamp, attacked the congressman for supporting privatizing Social Security. “When you say ‘I’m going to fix it,’ you’re going to privatize it,” charged Heitkamp. Indeed, as a state representative in 2005, Berg introduced a resolution formally supporting then-President Bush’s plan to privatize Social Security.

Felony counts – which would then lead to that person not be able to vote – which is a double win for the Republicans.  Force a baby – get rid of a voter.
IMHO – both of them are ALEC themes, based on my research.
Rep. Rick Berg (R-ND), the candidate for Senate from North Dakota, once voted for a bill that would have made any woman who obtained an abortion guilty of a homicide crime — even if it were in the case of rape or incest. Indeed, the bill Berg supported does not even contain an explicit exception if an abortion is necessary to save the woman’s life.

In 2007, Berg was among the small number of state representatives in the North Dakota House who supported the measure.

From his campaign Webpages:
And being the good little ALEC puppet that he is, Rick Berg opposed Obamacare.
And like a good little ALEC puppet that he is, Rick Berg supports de-regulation.
And like a good little ALEC-er he publishes on his webpage that he is member of the NRA.

And NOWHERE does he mention his affiliation with ALEC.
ALEC advertises him as an alum...... RICK doesn't
  - he must be embarrassed about his association with a right wing extremist
organization like the American Legislative Exchange Council.

Rick has a 45 facts about Rick page – and he doesn’t list ALEC anywhere on that page - or anywhere on his campaign website.

Rick Berg was “educated” by ALEC
He represents the CORPORATIONS.

Elect someone you know will represent the PEOPLE!
Elect the PEOPLE’s candidate
Heidi Heitkamp

WE MUST NOT
re-elect ALEC members – past or present.
WE MUST NOT!
