- I can't make this stuff up.
This weekend I posted a little history for the WaPo storyabout ALEC and Heartland teaming together to destroy renewable energy projects
in the states.
If you Google the first line of the WaPo story
"The Heartland Institute, a
libertarian think tank skeptical of climate change"
You get 1,090 hits in 0.20 seconds.
In addition to that you have a bundle, huge bundle, of hits
that reference the story without quoting the first line.
We all know what the American Legislative Exchange Council will bring to this heinous partnership
- their nasty, nasty legislation to be introduced and passed by their equally nasty
ALEC legislators.
Well, then – Heartland
– In that entry I
noted what Heartland would bring to the table:
So let’s back up and look at these
two bastions of climate denial.
First from the leaked documents from
the Heartland – last year:
The Heartland
2012
FUNDRAISING PLAN
B. Nongovernmental International
Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) Heartland sponsors the Nongovernmental
International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), an international network of
scientists who write and speak out on climate change. Heartland pays a team of
scientists approximately $300,000 a year to work on a series of editions of
Climate Change Reconsidered, the most comprehensive and authoritative rebuttal
of the United Nations’ IPCC reports. Another $88,000 is earmarked for Heartland
staff, incremental expenses, and overhead for editing, expense reimbursement
for the authors, and marketing.
Then on to ALEC’s ongoing climate
change battle for their fossil fuel, free-market, corporate profit sector
members.
Anyhow – when I woke up this morning I had a comment on that
post.
I get lots of comments – but I don’t release most of them –
my blog –
Evidently after the WaPo story hit the press – Heartland started
having heartburn.
It’s an acid reflux problem that is caused by too much
stress and eating too many RICH foods.
Anyhow – here’s the comment that was left on my blog in regards to my post entitled "ALEC/Heartland - Climate Deniers to the End":
Oh God – this RWNJ asking me - moi -
Can we agree ?
A known Repug, asking me a Repug hater to “agree”?
Whew!
Evidently this commenter was just doing a hit and run around the web.
Probably an ALEC "copy and paste" using the same comment
- over and over and over again
- frantically going from one site to the next to register and comment
- and leave the same comment over and over and over and over again.
Evidently this commenter was trying to do a counter attack
against the massive damage being done to their precious Heartland every second
that anew story hit the web based on the WaPo story.
Kinda sad – huh?
Really sad
when you consider
that Jim Blakely – Mr. “Can we Agree” commenter
is the DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
at
THE HEARTLAND INSTITUTE.
Hah!
