Petition for Texas secession hits White House response mark

Less than a week after President Obama's reelection, an online petition calling for Texas to secede from the Union has gained enough signatures to prompt a response from the White House.

The petition is posted on "We the People," the White House's website for petitions. The White House has pledged to provide a formal response to all petitions that receive more than 25,000 signatures within 30 days.

The Texas secession petition was posted on Nov. 9 and already has more than 27,000 signatures.

People have posted similar petitions for dozens of other states to secede, but the Texas petition was the first to cross the threshold.

Somewhere else I read that some nut job down there actually thinks that once they secede they can create trade agreements with the other states.  There's that belief in the ALEC free-market trade $hit.

Better start packing up the offices in Texas of the

USDA United States Department of Agriculture

USACE United States Army Corps of Engineers

USFS United States Forest Service

U.S. Department of Interior

Then once we have closed all the US government offices - then we should notify ALL private sector companies in Texas - holding US government contracts - that we are cancelling their US government contracts and moving those contracts to companies in other states - IN the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Then we’ll remove the USDA Free School Lunch programs from schools in Texas.

Then we will remove the USDA Soil Conservation subsidies to farmers in Texas.

Then there’s more Social Security and Medicare for the rest of us.

Those are US programs.

The Battle of the Alamo (February 23 – March 6, 1836) was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Following a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna launched an assault on the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar (modern-day San Antonio, Texas, USA). All but two of the Texan defenders were killed. Santa Anna's perceived cruelty during the battle inspired many Texans—both Texas settlers and adventurers from the United States—to join the Texan Army. Buoyed by a desire for revenge, the Texans defeated the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836, ending the revolution

After careful consideration I decided to change my winter vacation plans.
Would like to keep my $$$$ in the UNITED STATES.
Won't be going to any of the areas in RED this year.
