ALEC's Voter ID - $890,322.58 Worth of Republican Fiscal Irresponsibility

Straight from the elephants mouth
the Republicans

As the principal national organization of Republican lawyers, the Association has a targeted set of missions - all complementary, and none of which duplicate missions accomplished elsewhere. Each member of the Association and every local chapter must ascribe to the accomplishment of these missions, which include:
  Advancing Professionalism.
Advancing Open, Fair and Honest Elections..
  Advancing Career Opportunity.
  Advancing Republican Ideals.

*Please note that the convictions or prosecutions listed here are not intended to be a comprehensive list of all instances of vote fraud. The RNLA conducted a limited survey to indicate whether vote fraud charges have been filed in states across the country since 2000.

310 Cases of Voter Fraud
Across the ENTIRE UNITED STATES
Over a PERIOD OF TEN YEARS

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And they didn’t even get to prosecute the dead people that voted.

Studies show that as many as 11 percent of United States citizens—mostly older, low-income, and minority citizens—do not have government-issued photo IDs.1 Under the federal and state Constitutions, states must ensure that there is an accessible and reasonable way for all citizens to vote, including the estimated 33 million citizens who do not have photo IDs.

In 2011, Republicans have advanced photo ID legislation in at least 35 states. The report concluded that if these 35 states enact a photo ID law, they collectively will spend at least $276 million, and possibly as much as $828 million, in the first four years alone. At a time when states are experiencing huge budget shortfalls, it would be an enormous waste to spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to disenfranchise voters.

$276,000,000/310 = $890,322.58

Per the Republicans
we are going to spend
$890,322.58 per documented voter fraud case

At a time when states are experiencing huge budget shortfalls, it would be an enormous waste to spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to disenfranchise voters.
And that doesn't take into consdieration ALL the money being spent to fight these crazy right-wing Voter ID laws.

All thanks to the extremist right-wing organization - The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
