Community organizing to be discussed
Louis Goseland, director of organizing at Sunflower Action in Wichita, will lead a discussion about the American Legislative Exchange Council from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the back room at Martinelli's Little Italy, 158 S. Santa Fe.
Goseland will explain the purpose of ALEC and who is involved and he'll lead a discussion on ways to counter its effects.
Goseland is the youngest member of Sunflower Action and has led campaigns on several issues, including one to preserve voting rights in Kansas before the 2012 election. He founded the Wichita West High School chapter of Students United and is committed to the mission of grassroots community organizing.
The event is organized and sponsored by the Salina Area Worker's Coalition. For information, email Greg Stephens at gregs3@cox.net or call 819-6887.
