GMO's - NOT Just a Food Issue

Yesterday at the March on Monsanto I found out something that I thought was worth sharing.

No supplier of corn syrup in the USA can guarantee that their product is GMO free.
In other countries suppliers can certify that the corn used in corn syrup is GMO free.

So when you think of GMO's - don't just think of the food you eat, think of every pharamaceutical you use and every nutraceutical you put in your mouth also - cause they probably contain GMO's.

A list from a producer of “maltodextrins and corn syrup solids”
“maltodextrins and corn syrup solids” are used in the following pharmaceutical or nutraceutical processes and goods.
agglomeration + wet granulation
aqueous film coating
capsules
direct compression tablets
dry blends
dry granulation/roller compaction
liquid pharmaceuticals/syrups
medical nutritionals/nutritional beverages
medicated creams + lotions
nutritional bars
quick dissolve films
soft chews
spray drying
throat lozenges

Maltodextrin can be enzymatically derived from any starch. In the US, this starch is usually corn (wiki)
