GOP Hypocrisy on Wages



Raise The Minimum Wage To More Than $10 Per Hour?
NO – we can’t do that!!

the increase doesn't help the poor, most of whom aren't working;
costs jobs;
cuts job opportunities for the young;
raises the price of goods produced with a lot of labor services;
and
reduces the purchasing power of consumers, when owners raise prices to cover increased costs.


But this is is not bad for business:

The CEO and chairman of General Motors saw his compensation for 2012 rise to $11.1 million, up from $7.7 million in the previous year

Median CEO pay jumped 27% in 2010, a USA TODAY analysis of data from

Graphic Packaging CEO David Scheible received a 44 percent pay raise last year, to $9.2 million,

Delta Airlines Chief executive's 2012 comp package rose 42 percent after leading carrier back into the black.

Activision's Boss Got an 800% Raise,

CEOs in the U.S. earned nearly $6 million on average, up 15 percent over last year and 28 percent the year before that.
